Kursbeschreibung / Course description
Die Lehrveranstaltung umfasste vier inhaltliche Schwerpunkte die auf einander aufbauen und sich ergänzen. Der erste beschäftigt sich mit dem individuellen Zugang und eigenen Standpunkt zum Thema. Der zweite beleuchtet die soziale- und gesellschaftliche Bedeutung, Verantwortung und (Aus)Wirkung. Wie kann Design als Disziplin die gesellschaftliche Entwicklung im Bereich Ökologie und Nachhaltigkeit impulsieren und unterstützen? Die beiden folgenden Bereiche beziehen sich auf den Design-Prozess mit seinen Methoden und Modellen und die Ebene von Materialien/Verfahren für eine ökologischen Verortung und Vorgehensweise. Am Anfang und Ende werden ein persönlicher Status Quo erstellt, um die eigene und die gemeinsame Entwicklung der Veranstaltung bewusst zu machen. The course comprised four main content areas that build on each other and complement each other. The first deals with the individual approach and own point of view on the topic. The second focuses on the social and societal significance, responsibility and impact. How can design as a discipline stimulate and support social development in the field of ecology and sustainability? The two following sections refer to the design process with its methods and models and the level of materials/processes for an ecological location and approach. At the beginning and the end, a personal status quo is created to make the participants aware of their own and the common development of the event.
Workshops / workshops
Zu unterschiedlichen Themenschwerpunkten fanden Design-Thinking-Workshops, teilweise auch mit externen Gästen, statt. Das Format Blogseminar wurde mehrtägig am Semesteranfang als intensiver Einstieg veranstaltet. Design thinking workshops were held on various topics, some with external guests. The blog seminar format was organised over several days at the beginning of the semester as an intensive introduction.
Kochen / cooking
Das gemeinsame Kochen ist für alle Teilnehmenden immer wieder eine Herausforderung wie auch eine Bereicherung. Von der Auswahl des Menüs (regional, saisonal, verpackungsreduziert) über das Einkaufen, bis hin zum Kochen übernehmen die Studierenden die Organisation und Verantwortung. Das Ereignis war für alle ein Erfolg. Tolle Feste auf kulinarischer wie auch auf sozialer Ebene. Cooking together is always a challenge as well as an enrichment for all participants. From choosing the menu (regional, seasonal, reduced packaging) to shopping and cooking, the students take on the organisation and responsibility. The event was a success for everyone. Great celebrations on a culinary as well as on a social level.
Exkursionen / excursions
Durch verschiedenste Exkursionen, werden Einblicke in Geschäftsfelder, kleiner und Mittelständischer Unternehmen sowie städtische Einrichtungen ermöglicht. Die Nähe zur Realität wird direkt deutlich und schärft den Blick auf das Thema Ökologie. Through various excursions, insights into business areas of small and medium-sized enterprises as well as municipal institutions are made possible. The proximity to reality becomes directly clear and sharpens the view of the topic of ecology.
Teambildung / team building
Im Laufe des Semesters werden die Studierenden mit verschiedenen Arbeits- und Teammethoden konfrontiert. Spielerische Übungen lockern dabei das Lernklima auf und sorgen für eine intensivere Kommunikation. In the course of the semester, students are confronted with various working and team methods. Playful exercises loosen up the working atmosphere and ensure more intensive communication.

Begleitend zu den Lehrveranstaltungen gibt es einen geführten Internet-Blog, auf dem Arbeiten, Abgaben und Informationen geteilt werden.
